  1. We had to leave our bow thruster as non operational in Venice as so little appropriate marine engineering back up there.... much to my surprise. We did get the yacht to Dubrovnik, Croatia, where we had her lifted and took out the bow thruster. Managed to strip her down and fit the new drive belt, plus front bearing and the new seals arranged as a stuffing box. Not able to test yet but reinstalled easily and am optimistic all will be well. Needed to make a new part fir the top motor shaft as no end plate present. Hope to get back out to Croatia for early next season to finish this off and prepare here for a season sail cruising...... COVID allowing...... hopefully. I have a few photoso of the system stripped down. And reassembled - PM me if you need to see these
  2. Hej johan. Jonathan Hi johan. The information I have is that there is a circle and two seals before they are worn. These must be removed before installing a sliding hammer and gently dropping the shaft forward and outward. The two seals will almost certainly be damaged in that process and must therefore be replaced. What I am not clear about is whether the lower toothed pulley can come out through the bearing hole. It is places on the shoulder with a key and can in theory slip off the shoulder - and no one seems to be able to help me here, especially since this would fall into the bottom of the house. Also, I don't know if you have to remove the shaft completely to be able to install everything and in what order - everything seems to depend on whether the whole unit comes out in one and can then return as one unit. Hiw you click on the bearing home and get circled in place and then seal if the shaft is in place. Is it only possible if the leg is removed from the tunnel and how easy it will be to remove without damaging the tunnel and reassembly to seal. Unfortunately I have no answers as I'm in lockdown in England and the boat is still in the water in Venice. Good luck and let me know how you go. Jonathan
Jonathan Original English below: I have a similar problem. My Bow Thruster is a QL CT900, which I understand is the same as a Engbo XF90 or XF90R. Has anyone changed the toothed belt on one of these and can give me the benefit of your experience. I have a new belt, seal kit and bearing kit - just in case. After removing the seals and circlip, I understand that I need a slide hammer to draw out the shaft and blind bearing pullers for the bearings. What happens to the outer bearing? Is it likely to come out with the lower toothed drive wheel ( or does that slide off the shaft and drop down into the mounting?). Is it better to try and remove this from the tunnel or can it be serviced whilst still mounted in the tunnel? Any Thoughts gratefully received. Jonathan
